The Space Art of Patti E. Prevett

Working in acrylic with a water color wash technique, Patti E. Prevett began painting space and science fiction art in 1979. Her main interest lies in painting planetscapes and stellar views with nebulas, but she has found an audience painting space ships, both real and fictional.

Patti found painting therapeutic when her children were small, and her very first art show where she sold art was the 1985 NASFIC in Austin, Texas. She has gone on to produce many paintings and she has been successful selling her work at Science Fiction conventions including ConTex, AggieCon, ArmadilloCon, ConTroll, TrekFest, Revelcon, ApolloCon, and FenCon all in Texas, Conestoga in Oklahoma, and ConQuesT in Missouri.

Active in Houston fandom, Patti's art has graced the covers of program books for ConTex X, TrekFest 1992 & 1993, and two Lone Star Trek fanzines. Several covers of Audio Text audiobooks have used Patti's artwork. She also designed the t-shirt art for TrekFest 1993. Space Center Houston showed her art in a one woman show for their "Salute to Star Trek" during the month of November, 1994. She is an officer of Starbase Houston and is on the convention committees for RevelCon and ApolloCon.

Working from home, Patti lives with her husband, the rocket scientist, and her son, the Whovian, a hyperactive dog and two slightly insane cats. Her married daughter lives nearby.

Patti's friends love her art, but love her more. She's also very funny and a great cook.
